Default rear suspension for the strip???

hey guys. i'm pretty new to drag racing. i have been a few times and i know i need to get a detroit locker for the rear axle since mine is open, but i have HORRIBLE suspension for launching.. the leafs wrap and hop the rear end BAD!!! i know that ladder bars will help with this, but how long of bars would i need for the strip? we have built bars for my brothers sled puller, but with pulling you want a lot of leverage on the front end. my truck is 2wd so it seems that long bars would be pointless. i just need enough traction for a 3rd gear launch with a dual disc. Could y'all help lead me in the right direction on setting up my suspension to transfer weight better? thanks
