You can get the GM or the Dodge from the dealer and pricing varies greatly, sometimes they are decent. quad4x4 sells it in gallons for a decent price, also amsoil makes a compatible fluid with the proper ratings. You can get it direct from them or your local ams dealer (or one on the site) might have it cheaper.

yeah. check with GM too, exact same stuff and different dealers have totally different prices. If not check with your local amsoil dealer to see what kinda price they can get you. I'm personally getting the ams, I can get it slightly cheaper than the castrol through quad4x4.

Home

Dan is the owner of the shop and he's THE nv4500 guy if you ever need parts or info. I'm not sure what shipping will work out to be though.

If you get the ams you want the 75W-90 API GL-4. If you go to there site and put it in the search box it comes up. The GL-4 is the important part for the 4500, its the only rating compatible with it. $13 a quart straight from them. I got my local place to hook me up for $12 a quart and don't have to pay shipping.

how can you gusy tell that one oil is working better than another? i just switched from the original oil that was in my tranny for 80,000 miles to amsoil and guess what i didnt get better shifting( it was perfect before too) i dont notice a nooise reduction, i just dont see how you guys are telling that one is better than another or anything unless your sending out samples to get tested or have a temp guage to see that one oil runs cooler than another? whats up?

I've used one gl5 for a few miles while i needed it and I've ran the syntorque. I plan on running the ams. I didn't see any difference and don't expect one. Its more a matter of price of one over the other.
