Default Dealerships Suck

Last week hed the truck in for some warrenty work (ball joints) while on the way up there the service engine light went out only been on for 2 years or so. While they were fixing the ball joints i told them about the light and all they would say is its not on so we cant look at it. Pick the thing back up and less than a day went by the light was back on so now as of sunday morn it has been back at the dealership sence 800 on monday morn. They cant tell me whats wrong all they know is it is a transmission issue. Why do they have to be so durn slow diagnosing these things. Does it need a trans or not just fix the thing its yalls problem its still under warrenty only 25,000 miles. While i was working in a shop that wasnt exceptable but now with dodge going under i guess i should be happy they are working on it. Any one else have bad dealings with dealerships?

Hell I think all of have dealt with dealers that's why were here. In my case I used to have an automatic at with less then 3000 miles i kept goin into limp mode. Didn't throw any codes so they said they couldn't fix it.

dont feel bad I took my psd into the shop last week and the dealer said to not worry bout the loud knocking sound in my crankcase and to change my oil cuz that will fix it. took it to a diff dealer and the service guy made an appt and said try not to drive too much until I can get you in.

got the truck back yesterday and now they say there isnt anything wrong with it but cant explain why the service engine light is still on. they are saying it is do to the bd torque converter so they dont have to work on it under warrenty. Now is there any one out there with bd converters having sel comming on?

What codes were they finding. You may also want to post this in the BD vendor section as a question for BD Dave in case he can help out.

P1740 is only showing as being a code for Honda cars.
