"BROKEN IN?"
It depends alot on how the vehicle is used. If you use your pickup as a commuter car in stop and go traffic you may never fully get "broken in". Diesel engines have a keystone design piston ring which as boost pressure increases so does the outward force on the piston ring to the cylinder wall. I work on heavy equipment for a living and engines that are used hard all day every day are less of a problem child than the ones that are babied. JMHO
hell.. i say 30K is a lot, so im thinking that. althoguh ive never owned a diesel, but still. at 30k miles, the engine gets a god indication that whats its doing is what it will be doing from then on
