I wish the gooberment would mandate atleast a 2% blend of bio into all diesel fuel sold........................lubricity factor would then be comparable to when the diesel had sulfer in it

 

I agree with lube, but I disagree with the same performance. Time will tell

 

a local guy that has his own bio diesel thing goin runnin his d max on it and his wife stroker. he said after you run a tank of that or two through your truck and it cleans it up good and makes it run way smoother i dont no tho

 

at school we dynoed a 60series with on road fuel and then did it with bio and it showed no loss of hp

 

I can't say about HP... but real world driving, I get about 10-15% less mileage on B20-B30.

 

I won't even consider believing that "so called study" until the government stops "SUBSIDIZING" the bio industry. If they can't make it on their own, without subsidies from Uncle Sam, IMHO they're not a viable alternative in dino diesel!!!

 

I agree... All the figures I've seen that BIO has always scored lower in the BTU content and high in the cetane.. Take notice the cetane rises the BTU falls... You can't have your cake and eat it too...

What bio-diesel subsidy is there? The guy I buy from doesn't get any subsidies. He uses waste vegetable oil.

Are the subsidies for virgin oil?

 

Straight Bio does have a lower cetain rating then Dino diesel. Bio is a much better lubricant then Dino though. I run 32oz of home brew Bio in each tank to make up for the lack of sulfur/lubricating agent.
