anyone know of the best way to clean under the hood and what to use

 

A diesel and degreaser mix. Let it soak for about 10 minutes, then hose of with water.

 

spray nine works great. spray it on and let it soak for a few mins and wash off if oily, if dirt and dust foamin tire shine works well

 

Simple Green

 

i agree with dr. evil, simple green is the bomb.

 

simple green and careful powerwashing.. idk how thatd go on a dmax though

 

run to the store, grab a spray bottle of simple green max, get home and shut the truck off, get the garden hose ready, pop hood, spray down the warm motor w simple green max, let it sit fifteen minutes, hose it off lightly, spray it again, let it sit and rinse ..... depending on how badly coated, repeat again.

 

so it wont hurt anything to spray the engine off with a water hose?

 

Just becareful around the air filter and use the low pressure stream on the sprayer nozzle.

 

Shouldn't wash a hot engine. I use S100 total cycle cleaner found at any Harley shop, and CD-2 engine detailer at auto zone down here.
