Default Hankook ATM RF10

There seems to be a lot of traffic on this and other forums about tire options for our trucks. With that being said....

After reading this information and others recommendations the past several months I decided to take the plunge and pursue the purchase of some new shoes. Had been running the Toyo's AT 285/75/17 (sipped). With 28K+ miles and 9/32 of 17/32 remaining, they were wearing nicely, until just recently when it was noticed a lot of slipping on wet pavement, corners etc... Always properly inflated I had been experimenting with different tire pressure (unloaded) to correct this issue. No improvement. I knew it was time for a change.

So.....my search was narrowed to the Hankook ATM RF10, Nitto Durra/Terra Grappler, and BFG (always a popular choice). We all know that a lot goes into others recommendations considering we all drive differently and have different uses for our Duramax's. One of the deciding factors for me was a 4X4 Tire review conducted by a third party - the National Forest Association. The link is http://www.4x4tirereview.com/ATcomparotest.html.

Well, with a 60K warranty and the above information I bit the bullet. Got a great deal, mounted, balanced, siped, and filled with nitrogen for <$750, with a small trade. Here are some pics and a copy of the warranty.

I will chime in later to let everyone know how they perform and wearing.

I looked @ the hankooks but ended up putting the new yokohama a/ts on. So far so good. I bought them @ discount as well. They gave me a pretty good deal, $640.00 out the door with a 50k warranty.

COuld have been a bad batch. When I purchased a set of Toyo MT's LS went thru 10 tires before the found a set of 4 round tires. Subsequently they only lasted 2 weeks. Had them removed and my original tire put back on, Les Schwab could not get the set to balance. Guess you never know until you try them. Thankfully, most franchised tire shops have a 30 trial period.

I had a problem getting mine balanced at first. I kept throwing weights. After the third time, I haven't had anymore problems. I have about 25k on mine.

I havent ever heard of using them in light trucks. I thought they were only used in big rigs.

I was thinking of these as well, debating between these at's or the mt's...... at's most likely wear better, and at 800 bux a set, thats important.
