Default need help

i bought a 1999 ford 250 superduty and the check engine light is on butt there is no codes and the light wont go off is there something that will cutt it off i have a code checker and it will not cutt it off thanks

Your codes are likely stored in the IDM, (Injector Driver Module), and most $99 code readers that you get at the autoparts store won't read codes from it.

I would try a good aftermarket scanner or a Ford diagnostic tool to get the codes from the IDM.

disconnect both batteries, go back in the house for a cold adult beverage of your choice, take a good magazine (diesel power) to the crapper for a while, come out and play with the kids, then reconnect the batteries. Now watch and see if the CEL comes back on. If it does youve got an issue, if not well problem solved.

i had someone check it and it is a icp code and the truck just doesnt feel strong i went to get a new one and all 3 of my autoparts stores dont have it so do you guys know where to get one thanks
