Default Switching brands

Well after about a 2 hour discussion with my wife tonight I think I am going to be trading in my truck and my car for a new truck. Not because I dis like my Chevy but because I have 2 personal car payments, my wife was laid off in October and we are building a new house so I need to save about $1,500.00 a month.

Since the Dodge mega cabs were introduced I wanted to build one. We have decided that I am going to start shopping for a new mega cab Dodge.

I have never owned a Dodge at all so I am not familiar what to look for as far as features or what packages are what.

I know the must items are:

Cummins
4x4
Mega cab
Auto
Leather
Bucket seats
Dual climate control (if offered)
Dual power seats
Sunroof
Towing

I don't really care about a suspension package because I will get it lifted soon after I buy it. I don't care about the wheels and tires because they will be replaced at the same time as the lift. I really don't care about rear sensors, navigation or stereo because I will get that will be replaced with after market as well.

What package and price should I look at paying? I heard that the Laramie is the top of the line, is that the case? Should I get the lower level and add the bucket seats, power seats and dual climate (if offered)?

Thanks for the input.

Once you get leather its automatically turns into a Laramie which is still the highest optioned level for the truck.

Nope that just a convenience package that groups like 4 or 5 options grouped together with different badges. Plus the name came from the last class 8 truck Dodge built. But still Laramie is top of the line. But if you find a Resistol Edition Laramie, thats top Dog...

I bet you're gonna be disappointed with the dual climate control in the Dodge. My laramie Dodge has the "marriage saver" climate controls, but it's nowhere near as nice a setup as the automatic dual zone in my Chevy. I can't believe they put such a cheesy setup on this nice of a pickup.
