have it timed to 16.5*, buy a set of 4000rpm governor springs, and a set of ddp 90hp or 140hp injectors or set of marine 370's if you don't have the money for the dynomite diesel injectors. that should put you in the 13's, but if you do a lot of towing you may want to upgrade your turbo to something such as bd super b. also depending on what your ultimate goal is you may want the ddp 4's which are the 140hp injectors. good luck.

Get some 60lb valve springs to go with those 4ks. Bigger injectors as said, a set delivery valves, bigger turbo and exhaust to help out with all that.

it will get your egt's hot if you hold it wideo open for 30seconds or so, but just don't hold it wide open for too long, if you max out your 1500 degree gauge for a 1/4 miles your engine won't melt down, it will be fine, but you will have to watch the gauge, unless you upgrade your turbo, you probably wanna do the billet flex plate as soon as you can, its cheap insurance.
