I thought that the V-10 and the Hemi were two totally different engines.

How much horsepower can a mildly bombed Hemi put out? What kind of transmissions do they come out with?

If I had a mildy-bombed 500 HP Hemi, and a 6-speed, it would have enough gears to keep it up in RPM and it'd pull hard. Wouldn't be as long-lasting or fuel efficient, but with some nice exhaust it'd sound sweet up a grade at 5,000 RPM. Couple with the fact that you might be able to have the Hemi to a sustainable 500 HP for the price of the Diesel option, and it's not an entirely bad idea.

And some people just don't like Diesels. Considering how ignorant and stupid so much of the Diesel community is, I don't really blame them. You know, those "my cousin stacked two boxes on his Duramax and now it puts out 900 HP and 1700 ft lbs" people? If all I knew were those morons I'd build a towing 6.1 or 5.7 liter and kick all their butts, up the grade or in the sled pull.

I think that gasoline engines do still have the power-for-dollar ratio in their favor...

alot of people now to look at the the gas station signs and just say no way, and like begle said alot of people dont like diesels there loud they smell and it cost more to fix one when they break down, which now with the modern diesels the first two are not right but the third one is def right, and the initial cost factor when you go to buy one at the dealership can deter that...

yes, the v10 and the hemi are two totally different engins. dodge makes a v10 engine for performance, which can be found the vipers or the srt-10 trucks. the trucks are not made for towing, but for racing. ford on the other hand, idk what the they are doing with there v10 in an f-2/350

Diesels just ain't that common in some areas and the weekend warriors that are just getting into towing probably don't even think about diesels. Cause gassers is all they have had.
