Default intake

my friend just bought a 2005 6litter and was wondering what kind of intake he should get. i have another friend with a 06 and he burned up his turbo and when the dealer replaced it they said that the k&n intake helped fry it what do you think?

K & N's are notorious for dusting turbos because they usually aren't cleaned and oiled properly.

so,what about all of the other air filters that you have to clean & oil? is it just K& N air filters that do this? I've had a K & N on mine for close to 250,000 miles and have had no problems at all.

Dunno.. I just know that there are plenty of independent people that have had bad experiences with them.

The factory intake has received a pretty universal nod in the 6.0 community for flowing good enough to support up to 500WHP. So the gain is easier filter to change. Some have indicated that they feel the turbo spools quicker with the aftermarket intakes.
