This last oil change I switched to Amsoil 15w40 with the Amsoil oil filter. I will report back!

 

The miles listed above... are those miles on the truck or miles on each sample of oil? I'm assuming miles on the oil, but you can never be sure
If so, it looks pretty good. One thing to for everyone to remember when looking at these is if going from a 5k to a 12.5k sample, if everything was consistant, then the values would be a little more than double. Everything stayed pretty much the same and that's good. The iron went up but there's nothing wrong with a 70 with those miles.
One nice that is missing is the TBN. Gives a good indication of life left in the oil. Might want to request it next time??

Where did you send your sample to? Is there a kit you can buy and mail in to get results?

 

I use Staveley Services which is what you get through Amsoil. They send me the postage paid package so when I take the sample it just gets dropped in the mail. Each analysis is logged and tracked so when they send me the results it has a graph of each analysis that has been done and the changes between each one.

 

Thanks Keith! The TBN was 6.37. The miles indicated are miles on the oil not the truck. I only use Baldwin filters if anyone would like to know.

P.S. Mobil 1 TBN when new is 11. From what I've found, my TBN was good enough were I could have ran the Mobil 1 for another 5k+!

For those who get the postage paid return oil kits its cheaper to pay for the postage your self. Most places charge you $5.00 to cover return postage yet it cost me only $2.25 to mail my oil samples back in.
