I've had 315/75's on my truck since the stock tires had worn out. At 16mpg on 3:55 gears I didn't realize the stress I was putting on the truck. I dropped down to 285/75 get some mileage back (which I did) but wow I got some power too! Only thing thats taking some getting use to is the look . It lowered the truck a few inches and they look sooooo skinny. Oh well, it may look different but I'm getting 17mpg now and I got me some power back.

 

I am running 285/75's but im due for new tires. I was looking at steping up to a 305/75, I thinks I will stay where im at now. Thanks

 

Hey cut that out i have 285's

 

These skinny little tire were the biggest gettin used to when I went with these 19.5 Rickson wheels and tires to. But they ride much nicer then the old wide ones do and less rubber on the road means less resistance on the truck. They also get around the soft stuff better then old wide tires did to. Guess that's why the Military always put the skinny little tires on all the old jeeps and trucks.

 

FFDfiretruck , I don't think 305's would hurt your power, gotta remeber I drive a Ford !

2500HeavyDuty, sorry they just look funny. Lots of room in the fender well!

The truck does ride and handle a bit better, you can feel the most difference when climbing a hill on the highway. Has more get up and go when its being lugged.

 

yeah 4 inch lift only thing that looks right would be 37's

 

don't worry about him he just has size issues and ya once you are use to 35's or bigger it is hard think of putting a smaller tire on and not thinking it will look weird

 

i think 285 look weird on mine, they only look good when my tbars are fully dropped

 

then why not step and play with the big boys hahahah

 

oh u will want to play with the little kids where u belong after messing with my truck with the bars dropped
