Default Catfish Bait....

alright guys

I always like trying new types of bait to catch my cat with.

What is your guys favorite bait to use to hammer the cat with.

I personally have had good luck this year with just chicken liver from the store. I tried some blood scented powerbait and blood scented gulp but neither one has landed me a cat yet.

Sturgeon blood meat. Comes from the back blood cord. Hung, salted, cured and cut into about 1" lengths. They can't leave it alone!

find a dead possum, coon, or skunk along side the road and throw it in a burlap sack with a few big rocks and let it set in the sun for about 5 or 6 days then toss her i nthe water where your fishing at.......actual cats work good too......they just dont have to be dead when you throw them in the water though.......

LOL good one Logan. Iused the "stink" baits. Then I switched to an Ivory Soap Bait.

Ivory Soap Bait

Ingredients:

4 bars of Ivory soap (Family size)
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of water
sheet of wax paper or foil

Preparation:

In a small pot, combine sugar and water and dissolve. Shave soap into the water mixture and heat over a low fire. Stir until soap is melted. Pour soap mixture onto paper and pat with wet hands to avoid burning and soap from sticking. Pat soap into flatten mass approximately 1/2 inch thick. Cut into cubes while soap is warm and place in an air tight container or zip-lock bag to retain moisture. DO NOT LET SOAP COOL BEFORE CUTTING - IT WILL BECOME BRITTLE! Soap bait will be pliable and easy to use either with single or treble hooks.
