Good bye Mini Maxx and hello EZlink
I have a 2011 Ram 2500 LBCC Laramie 4x4 that I bought new and really liked the truck but in stock form it liked the fuel, even running empty (11.4-14.5 mpg). When the truck was almost new I had an H&S Mini Maxx installed for deletes and also a 5" TBE Flopro. All was well for 40,000 + miles and then it popped the first head gasket on a longer trip pulling the 5er. I had the dealership that I bought the truck do the gasket change with the ARP head studs. Nothing but trouble with it and it went back for the second gasket change. The truck seemed somewhat better but was still fighting overheating and coolant loss. I haven't been able to tow my camper very much because I had lost confidence in my truck. I recently had another head gasket put in with a new set of studs, on my dime. The garage that did the gasket sent the head to a reliable machine shop and low and behold the head had a serious warp and had to be planed .006", which they said was a lot. Now the truck doesn't pressurize the cooling system, YAY, but I had to get rid of the Mini. I had a different shop do the re-tune with a 50hp EZlink tow tune. The truck has more low end grunt and with the new trans tune the 68RFE shifts so quick that I can hardly feel them. When I was running the Mini Maxx my exhaust was always annoying but the new tune has changed the pitch so that I don't mind it.
The problem with the H&S tuners was with a box tune that they came with the pre-injection timing was advanced so much that it caused upper cylinder over pressure which pops head gaskets. I really like the EZlink tune. The truck would make 18.5 - 23+ mpg with the Mini when running empty on the hwy. running 75mph on the Interstate, and I am going to MO tomorrow and will check the mileage running the new tune. Hope it comes close to what I was getting before. I will post my fuel mileage from this trip when I get back next week sometime.

I came home from Missouri yesterday afternoon. I filled the truck before I left home and the first fill after that I had made 18 mpg and the second fill made 19.4 mpg. I filled up in Mo for the trip home and ran into stout wind on I80 and made 17.2 mpg and filled again in Nebraska and soon ran out of the wind and made 18.8 mpg on the last leg home. Not as good of fuel mileage as when running the Mini Maxx but the truck runs good and and I think this is still decent mileage for an 8,000 # vehicle. All driving was 75mph on the Interstate. I noticed while driving in town the truck makes a lot better mileage compared to town driving when tuned with the Mini.
