Pos won’t stay running.
Hi, I’m new to this forum and was hoping for some help. I have a 96 f-350 5spd with 270k miles. I have recently got my old truck back on the road after sitting for a couple years. Its had about 1500 trouble free miles then it started acting up while driving down the interstate. I was cruising and it slowly started loosing power, starts with a missing cylinder and then slowly drops another cylinder till it won’t stay running. If I let it cool down it will start again and run great for 10-15 minutes and does it all over again. It happened once before with a skip on one cylinder during the first 500 miles and I added a healthy dose of atf to the fuel and it seemed to solve the issue for awhile but it might have been a coincidence. So far I have replaced air filter, cps sensor with international sensor, changed filter, new fuel pump, fixed leaks on fuel bowl, checked hpop oil level. Fuel pressure is around 30 psi at idle and stays steady till it quits, fuel selector hasn’t worked in a few years, glow plugs haven’t worked for the past 150k miles, changed out pcm about 5 years ago due to a bully dog programmer that failed and fried the unit. The truck is straight piped so there’s no restriction in the exhaust. I’d like to trouble shoot the sensors but I’m unsure where to start and would hate to replace expensive parts that are okay. Please help.
