Default 66mm turbo

Hello all, im well aware i need to get my supporting mods first, and gauges. But my uncle is selling a brand new 66mm turbo to me. No idea what exaughst housing size. He got it in a trade new in the box for some tools. He put it in his 24v with stock injectors and a tuner at 80hp. Says it rips! And i wouldn't need to throw bigger injectors in with just a tuner. What are your thoughts?

a 66 is generally a dog in a vp powered truck. you will definatly need a programmer and larger injectors to enjoy a 66mm compressor. you need to figure out what size the turbine wheel is. is this a gated housing or a non gated? most common are a 66/74/.91 t4 non gated charger. this will be a pain to say the least to run on a near stock truck.

These are great things youve asked, im unawre of and will ask. Thats ehy i came here to ask the forum for better knowledge than me. My original plan was to put a 62/65/14 on with 175hp sticks.
thats why i wasnt sure if i should believe him that a 66 runs great with just a tuner on a stock truck.

it will not run great but it will go. don't expect to tow and expect it to be slow to boost. 175 injectors are a LOT for a 62/65. fyi

in all honesty a box stock s366 can make around 600hp. you are very very far from that. which will make your truck not act like you want it too. how much is he selling this turbo to you for? a box 366 cost about $550 with no machine work.

$1000 its a drop in ready turbo with hx40 downpipe and a tuner. Its some kind of ecm tuner.
175 sticks on 62/65/14 is the max amount of fuel to push it, however it wont be smokey. Just gotta get a quadzilla and tune the smoke out.
