Ad 150 noise
I am new here so don' be too rough on me. Here is a little info on my truck,
2001 Ram 2500 Cummins 5spd 4x4 125k miles
Edge Juice w/ Attitude
Airdog 150
DDP 75 hp injectors
Valair sd clutch and hydraulics
A few other odds and ends.
I bought the truck in 2010 and most modifications have been done between 2012-2014.
The reason I'm here is on Saturday 3/3 my Ad 150 started making a loud whining noise, loud enough to hear over the motor and straight pipe. The pump has always made a little "pumping" noise prior to start but nothing like this. All the articles I can find on this just go into an argument that all pumps are loud but nothing about the sound suddenly changing. I Always get fuel at the same place and haven'tdone anything out of the ordinary with the truck. Unfortunately while looking through some papers recently I found the warranty paper that I neglected to return at the time so that'sout. Any ideas what could have caused the change? Also it only makes this noise while the truck is running, if I bump the key to make the pump kick on and stay running it sounds normal and seemed to work fine. I have never had more than 15-16 psi at the motor, sensor is inline about 6 inches from the injector pump, psi regularly drops to about 11 when getting on it but comes back up once the pump has time to catch up with the motor.
If I have put this in the wrong place please fix or let me know.
