Default What should I be looking for!

hey there I'm looking to buy a 24v cummins engine so I can build it then swap it into my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500! There is one for sale around me but doesn't have injectors or pump lines which doesn't bother me! I'm just wondering how much this engine is worth and what's the lowest I should pay for it! Thanks

First make sure what casting number is on the block. If it is a 53 block offer less. Since you cant hear it run offer less. injectors, crossover tubes, and lines will probably run in the $1000 range. I would probably offer in the neighborhood of $1300-1500. Since you are buying hoping the rest of it is in good condition.

Is there any thing I can do when I go there to check it out to make sure it's not seized and is a good block!

Put a wrench on the flywheel or the crank and see if it turns. It should turn pretty easily since there are no injectors in for it to build compression.
