Edge also offers the EZ to fit the 3126. Good for about 40hp or so.

Sure, take it out and put in a DT466. I have a TopKick w/the 3116, basically same motor but its mechanical not electronic. That thing is a dog but i was able to turn up the fuel rail for more power. I feel for ya man, to my knowledge this is the only POS motor Cat makes.

Not quite..........the 3208 makes a better boat anchor than anything else.

In stock trim yes, but crank on it a bit and its a decent engine. Got one with 350K on it and cranked up a bit and it runs like a top!!

Then again, a few of the forklifts at the mill have 3208's in them and they are real dog turds. The only saving grace for two of them is they have more gears than engine...

Their a throw-away motor really, once it's time for a rebuild just chuck it and do a repower. They also have a nasty habit of the injection pump gear getting welded to the pump shaft when things go south. Thats real fun to get apart then.

They have their place I guess but their are alot better choices out there.
