We have been doing Off Road Related tech videos for a while now at Busted Knuckle Films. We decided to start covering some Diesel Tech as well with our new Series called Tow Rig Tech. On this episode we are installing some 380hp single shot injectors into our 2002 7.3 Powerstroke. This seemed like a difficult task but really isn't that bad at all.

 

what are "380hp single shot injectors"?

 

Factory injectors are split shot. They have a pilot shot to quiet down the motor. These eliminate that and are supposed to be capable of making 380hp on the Race Tune.

 

i know what split and single shots are. what are 380hp injectors?

 

I am guessing they can support up to 380 horsepower. I am no expert. Just did a video of the install to show people that it is not that difficult. Stock 7.3= 250hp Add these injectors and their race tune of 130hp = 380hp

The Stage 1.5 injectors are very popular for towing and everyday driving with a little more power than the stage 1 and still keep low smoke levels. The stage 1.5 achieves more power with the larger nozzle but they are still a great choice for towing and without stress on the stock drivetrain. The power made is very noticeable in all driving conditions from off idle to full throttle.

Stage 1.5 injectors features new 30% larger nozzle and plunger barrel assemblies for long life and predictable performance. no reputable 7.3 injector builder rates there injectors in HP.

 

I guess that is a matter of opinion. They build a ton of injectors for Fords. Mine seem to work well. To each their own I guess.

 

if they know what they are doing they advertise them like they are built. they are measured in CC and nozzle size not HP. its not a cummings
