Hey Guys,

I am looking into a new steering box for my dodge ram 3500. I have a 8" BDS lift kit installed and was looking at the redhead steering box. One shop says that I need a new pitman arm and lower steering coupler along with as well is this true? He says this upgrade was for the 2009+ steering boxes. I have found the redhead online for my exact year so I am confused as to why he has me looking into the 2009 or newer boxes.

I've got an 05 and went with the 09 steering box, ps pump and linkage, borgeson shaft and steering brace. expensive, but made a world of difference. Heard too many problems with redhead boxes. when i changed steering linkage it came with a new pitman arm.
