6.5 Diamond Eye ... No problem!
Well, after reading all I could, I bought and installed the Diamond Eye kit with no muffler in my 95 Crew Cab dually 4wd. I know that a lot of folks have had some issues with the clamps and the mounts, but for this install, all the clamps lined up, all the mounts were right, and becuase this is the longest version of that model, I didn't have to cut any pieces in the kit.
While I was doing all that, I went ahead a changed out glowplugs with Duratherms and drilled and tapped for my pyro. As many folks have done, I pulled the inner fender and it made all the difference in the install. Like plenty of us have found, the V-band clamp was tough to get off after having been mounted for so long and I don't thinkn it would have been removable if I was only working from the top.
Overall, it was a long day, and getting the old exhaust pipes and soot trap out was not fun, but the end result is a definite improvement in mileage (3 mpg measured in two tanks but i drive like an old fart) and I have not noticed any drone at any speed. Is it louder? Yep. Is it annoying? Nope. Does it sound a helluva lot better? Yep.
In short, I know that plenty of folks have not removed the inner fender, but I found it made it much easier (especially when doing the glows) and for the Crew Cab LWB trucks, it appears that the clamps offer no issue versus some of the shorter trucks.
The kit that I bought was free shipping and $235 US on Ebay - well worth it. If you do it, though, take the time and go ahead and change out the glowplugs while you're there. With the DE downpipe, I'm not sure that you can even access #8 or #6.
Hope this helps somebody!

For the amount of time it takes to remove and replace the inner fender, I never understand why people just don't do it. It's kind of like not using a door because you would have to open it
Yeah makes no sense and then they cry about how there isn't any room to work on it the 10 minutes it takes to remove the inner fender is a no brainier when doing the GP's and getting to the exhaust pipe on that side of the engine in a truck I'm lucky having a 4X4 as the tire doesn't even have to come off.

I'd agree 100% ... Now. I have to admit, I looked at the inner fender versus just from the top for a while before I made up my mind. Maybe since I've got the t bars cranked a little, I did not have to remove the tire and the inner fender just slid right over it with minimal persuasion. This is also a great time to clean that hard to reach frame ground right there by #8. I'd replaced it awhile ago when I did all the grounds, but while it was all apart, I could really get on it and wirebrush it thoroughly.
