Default fuel advance

I have a 95 3500 6.5 diesel and it runs great but the fuel advance doesnt work and that makes it harder to start so can I turn the injector pump a little to help this problem and if so would I turn it to the driver side or passenger side???
Thanks for the help

I think you need to be a little more specific as to the problem you are having is hot starts we are talking about cold starts or all the time? What codes you are getting would be helpful as well and turning that pump may just cause you to never to get it to start or the engine could runaway on you then you could end up with more problems.

Thanks Mayhem
the trucks does this all the time now and the code it has is flash once followed by eight and that is the only code?
when starting the truck if I give it some fuel pedal then it seems to help it start and the engine runs smooth and great..
I put on a heath PMD and relocate cable and turbo master and chip and also the dual thermostat and water pump and I have cleaned all the grounds and it used to do this on ocation but now all the time?? I evan pulled the intake off and cleaned all the fittings and put degrease on them..

Code 18 is a crankshaft circuit malfunction and that kind of makes sense 21 year old truck in New Mexico extreme heat there I would bet will take a toll on old sensors I had a 1994 that had a bad CSS it's located front bottom of engine on drivers side 10-1 says it will fall apart before you can get it out replace this only with a AC/DELCO anything else is (edited) if yours falls apart p.m. Me and I will walk you thru how I removed mine good luck Mayhem.
