what lift pump
need to replace my lift pump;;here is my mods I have on engine;it is a 12 valve 5.9L cummins;/ve pump that fuel pin has been rotated to highest point.Don't know IF star wheel has been adjusted or if anything else has been done/hx35 turbo off newer 24 valve w/waste gate/100HP Ducky injectors/Hamilton cam[the smaller one of the AKA "big stick"]4" straight exhaust[no muffler].
If I end up with bad ve pump then thinking of doing the P700 pump upgrade[if budget allows and if it is a big enough improvement]If not then go back to the VE pump but do the aftermarket fuel pin/turn star wheel and do any other performance adjustments to help with performance and MPG;
have been researching and some fourms says they using the Holley "black" electric fuel pump as a lift pump but then others commented it has to much pressure and can blow out seals in IP [VE PUMP] and others says works great;;Ican't afford that to happen so what do you suggest me to use as a lift pump for combo I have now and hopply still work for me if I end up doing the new IP;;
I ONLY USE TRUCK FOR TOWING MY 40FT. RACE CAR TRAILER THAT WEIGHT IS AROUND 12000LBS LOADED.SO I NEED BUILD TO BE FOR TOWING ABILTY AND MPG;IF IT MAKES ANY DIFFERANCE I'M RUNNING 3;70 GEARS AND MANUL 4 STEED TRANS AND A US GEAR OVER/UNDER AUX TRANS BEHIND THE 4 SPEED.
