24 valve injector service review Dallas,TX Fuel shop review
Howdy Ya'll
Had the local Diesel fuel shop here in Dallas adjust my injectors.
The bill was $111.70 for 6 injectors.
The receipt reads clean an replace gaskets. Nothing mentioned about adjusting the injectors or specs.
The injectors have the 150 hp nozzles and since I had the head off, of my diesel I decided it would prob be a good idea to get the injectors adjusted.
So I took the injectors to ABLE Fuel in Lewisville,TX and asked them to set the bar around 262 to 295 or to there best judgement.
I didn't want to go to high on the BAR.
So when I picked up the injectors today 8-09-2016 I had no proof that they were adjusted except just the mechanic telling me that Yeah he watched one of the other mechanics who did them.
Would have been a little nice to at least see something on the receipt that stated injector adjustment.
I really do not like having to ask or lead the witness and only get a verbal of what was actually done.
I would not refer ABLE fuel in Lewisville,TX to anyone wanting work done.
Would have been nice to have a spec sheet of what settings were.
If you do not mind handing over cash and only getting a verbal explanation of what was done then feel free for using them.
It does not seem right that a customer has to ask what was the BAR set at? Who did the work?
How many times did the injectors have to opened up to get right?
This is a Diesel injection fuel shop. The questions I had to ask is there normal shop talk lingo and should have been easily explained to the customer without the customer having to dig and ask what was done. I do not feel I should have had to ask these questions.
As a 32 year mechanic myself this type of complacency is alarming and a potential red flag for a job that was not done.
For what its worth this has been my experience.
If you have any advice to the contrary then please feel free to advise.
