Is the k47 air cleaner a direct replacement in the 6.5. I have seen some on ebay but they are from gas engines. I am assuming its the same for the diesel from what I see. I like the s&B but from what I read the k47 is just about as good just minus the looks.

 

The filter is the same from a gas burner the housing and the ductwork is not I have a K47 housing and ductwork from a 1999 3500 got from a local auto salvage yard for $25 the biggest difference I have seen is the filters a half the price or more for the K47 I may have just a little more engine growl than my stock rectangular filter made.

Oh yes it's direct fit.

 

Found a k47 but will it give me the same results as an s&b setup. I want to try and get a little turbo whistle with the 6.5. I just got a diamond eye 4'' exhaust to match up. I have seen a few 6.5s on youtube that get a whistle with the bigger exhaust.

 

Only time I ever had any whistle from my turbo was when the clamp from the turbo to down pipe came loose and the exhaust seperated.
