Looking for a little guidance!
I'm a new guy on here and looking to hear a few opinions...
I have the opportunity to pick up a '93 F350 with a 7.3 IDI. Only 32k miles and I know the truck's history as I am hopefully buying it off my own Volunteer Fire Dept. Truck sat most of its life, garage kept and always well maintained, light/typical underbody rust and absolutely zero typical wheel well rot. Been reading about IDIs vs. Powerstrokes, etc. and how IDIs can sometimes have hidden cavitation issues on the 7th cyl. if an additive was never properly done, etc. I think we can all agree the truck has a ton of life left in her, just looking to hear some opinions from you guys who know your diesels! Thanks!

there isnt a lot of 6.9 7.3 idi fans out there. they are an ok motor, but not anything i would pick it over besides a 6.2 or 6.5 gm. you can turn them up fairly easy, but it is easy to turn them up to much and get really high egts. they say when there turbocharged, they work better, but have not personally seen or messed with one thats been turboed. good luck to you and welcome to db
