Default holset super hx40

So I know a guy that's wanting to run one of these turbos on his truck but he's unsure if the 16cm exhaust housing would be too laggy to tow an daily drive with it. He's wanting to run 100horse injectors an edge juice an a Hamilton towing cam. Would this turbo be good for his needs he only tows an daily drives with the truck.

If the turbo is a good price go for it. Go with 125HP injectors. Its a little laggier than a 62/65 but its a solid turbo and has the better 60mm compressor wheel and the 16cm housing. Keep in mind you can get a super B turbo (that will spool faster and will almost support as much HP) for about $1000.

Quadzilla adrenaline is back. Cam is not really necessary.

Ok thanks Jkidd. Would a 63/68 turbo be suitable for towing an dd with the setup I mentioned in the first post an what size exhaust housing would you recommend?

I've been running that turbo on my 1st Gen with 5x12's for a few years now and it works great - no spool or lag issue whatsoever.

How does that super B turbo compare with the stock HX35 (I think) on my 01? Would it spool faster? Would it install without mods to other components?

Super B is a better turbo than the HX35. It wont spool as fast but it will support more air and higher boost pressures.
