when you rebuild it put a shift kit in it and drill out the body for more oil flow and cool tran temp. i did this to mind and it improve the shifting plus drop my tran temp by 10-15 degrees

I had mind done at a tran shop. But it the valve body you drill out.I do not know which ports they drilled. But I done know it made a big difference on my truck. up shifting and also down shifting and tranny temp. Sorry I could not tell you which port to drill out or how big to go.

Get a Goerend VB and TQ and a Master rebuild kit. Billet input wouldn't hurt! Now take it all to a good tranny shop that knows the 48RE Even AAMCO will work! Do it yourself and you'll probably have to do it again!

Drive it to Reno, Nevada. Go to A-1 transmission and talk to a guy named Andy. He'll build it for how you use it, and warranty his work. He wont try to talk you in to stuff you don't need. People are too consumed with "billet this, and Billet that". It's an overused term that just means "machined from a single piece of metal". there's no point in paying for a full race trans, and getting a few "billet" parts that may or may not meet your requirements. Transmissions aren't what they used to be. there are many factors that add to the complexity of modern automatics, and even if you use the best parts to rebuild them, issues will arise due lack of compatibility. just my two cents...
