Default well i just bought me my first diesel today as well as my first ford

i have always been a big block gmc kinda man but i wanted another stick. found me a real nice stock never tuned ,never hauled more then a bass boat 1 owner 2000 f250 super duty xl regular cab with a 6 speed and just under 250000 miles i gave 2,500 for it from a family friend seems to in good working order no blow by starts runs and drives ok anything i need to know about them? read a few post on here and other sites before a purchased it anything i should do to it planning on using it to haul my toys around and for a winter work daily driver as i just got done restoring my 80 gmc 454

Well congrats on the new rig and welcome to diesel bombers. Your imagination is the limit. If you have access to a AE scanner or better start looking into diagnostic test and see if you have any DTC on the computer. Get all the info you can from the previous owner on maintenance go from there. The 7.3 is a rock solid motor. Stock trany is its week link. I've had my 99 f250 4 door lariat for 10 yrs now . I don't think I will ever give this truck up. Now if we don't answer right a way with be patient some one will be along. And again Welcome.

from what i read the zf6 6 speed manual gear box was pretty darn rugged

Oh that's right you did say you had a six speed well then general maintenance you should be good.
