Scheid Diesel Motorsports' diesel dragster breaks another record. The fastest diesel dragster continues to be at the top. The car ran at Alabama International Dragway on May 18, 2008 with a time of 6.93 and a speed of 193 mph. The car, driven by Bo Layne, is now the first and only diesel powered vehicle in the 6's.

Scheid Diesel has designed the engine for the Spitzer built chassis, to achieve 200 mph in the quarter mile. This 300 inch rear engine dragster is powered by a Cummins 5.9L B-series diesel engine. The engine and drive train has been custom designed by Scheid Diesel. We are very close to exceeding the 200 mph barrier. Charlie was telling me about the dragster the other day. thats n insane speed right there. Maybe he can run a little faster with an airdog on there hes running no lift pump right now ive heard

 

Not to bring back up an old thread, but I was just reading in January's edition of 8 Lug magazine, and on page 13 it says that the Scheid Diesel Silverline Dragster made history @ Muncie Dragway, October 18,2008 for being the fastest diesel powered vehicle in the quarter-mile. It ran it in 6.908 seconds @ 203.71mph. It is currently the only diesel-powered vehicle to break the 200mph mark in the quarter mile!! Just figure I would throw out an update on this awesome piece of equipment!!

 

Yeah it has broken the 200 MPH limit. It's a sweet ride. but now they got some competition this year with Greg's Car an Banks Car.
