2005 Dodge 5.9
We had the engine rebuilt and the old pan had some rust spots nothing through but we bought a new pan. Now after a few nights of frustrating work we finally got it in and running ! But.. the pan is leaking, tried tightening but no help. I have been wondering if there is a different gasket we should have used or someway to stop it without pulling the engine or transmission? Is there enough room to drop the pan enough to put in a new gasket and use silicone gasket maker to seal? Any comments help or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Drain the oil save it! Loosen all the bolts 1/2" separate the pan from the block and clean with brake clean and then run a RTV GREY bead all the way around snug up but don't tighten all the way wait 15 minutes then tighten all the bolts wait till the next day fill and drive! have a beer!
