Default What to do?

Hi there
I'm new to being an owner of a diesel vehicle and need some advice. I've got a 1990 W250 with the non IC cummins in it backed by the 727 trans. Its got 530,000 KM (329,000 Miles) on it. I also have the complete drive train from a 1992 W250 with a IC cummins backed by the A518 trans. It's got 397,000 KM (246,000 Miles) on it. I plan on putting a new fuel pin and 3200 RPM governer spring. Get a BHAF. Plus turn up the fuel screw and install a 4" exhaust on whatever combination I go with. My dilemma is that should I keep the motor in it cause it's got the larger injectors. Swap in the A518 trans to have the overdrive and put in the intercooler. Or do I just swap everything over or just keep it as is?

Thanks

you can get more power from the 90 then the 92
i turned up the pump 2 turns =50 hp/75torque
BD fuel pin and 3200 rpm spring. Banks intercooler and 4 inch exhaust
my 3 speed auto is a 727, strong but dont go much more then 300 hp
the 89-90 have 9mm injectors vs the 7mm. which gives more fuel

Any advice about installing the A518 trans? It would be nice to have the OD

Running the 3.07 gears with OD will let you speed down the highway fast. 1st, 2nd, 3rd is exactly the same 727 vs. a518. Driveshaft lengths change because the OD trans is so much longer. You'll have to investigate if the '90 PCM can control the OD, or you need to figure out something else.

I would stick with the non-IC engine, and add the 92 turbo & intercooler if you want. Keep the rest for spares.... overhaul or build them up for easy swapping when something else fails.

I'm attempting a '94 WH1C swap on a non-IC for my Ramcharger. : IMO, the intercooler's main benefit is for extended periods of high fuelling (i.e. towing/hauling). Something I'm not going to see much of in a 2dr hatchback.
