I have a 1996 12 valve has the kdp, 5th gear fixed, the rest is all stock what are some must have mods and upgrades boost power mileage all of the above. It's my first Cummins so excuse my ignorance if I ask dumb questions

 

start with Studs ( will need rocker pedistals milled ) .
then Open that exhaust up
I.P Timing ( mine is a 215 I have mine @ 15.5* and its really responsive (887 pump).
then turbo(s)
fuel mods
Twin disk clutch set up ( as the stock one will not hold up to a bunch of power) .

should be real fun after that

 

1)gauges
2) exhaust
3) air filter
4) turbo
5)injectors

 

Hi,

Consider 3k or 4k governor springs and valve springs if you are going with the 4000rpm set. Some tuning will help and can be done for free. Check out the tech section.

The best bang for the buck mod would be gov springs.
