I have a 05 Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins. Upgrades are 4" exhaust (Straightpipe), Airaid cold air intake, Turbonics intercooler & Edge Evolution CTS Touch. I am having problems with Egts. When I get on throttle the egts get to 1350 in just a matter of seconds with edge on lvl 5. I can not really get on it at all before having to let off. I am currently running stock turbo with aprox 32psi max boost. Thks in advance for the insight. Truck has 135'000mi with no blowby. Runs strong.

 

What turbo are you running? Stock there's your answer!

OK. Any advice on what turbo. My plans are everyday driving. Pulling 32ft float loaded with atvs on weekends. Looking for all around turbo. Quickest spoolup I can get for what it will be used for. Thks

 

Run a 62 even a 64 if you want some kick a$$ top end power! But towing with the 64 will be a learned technic! Just google best all around turbo for what your doing!

Are you reaching the high egts at 1350 empty? I'm running the edge with AEM intake and stock turbo but hardly see #s like that- it'll boost up to 36 with foot on the floor but usually reaches about 1150. I don't do it often as I know I'm asking for trouble. I'll be following looking for better turbo options

 

Yes it is empty. Stock turbo was Boosting 22Psi. You can't hold it down long at all. Even at highway speed if I put it to floor. I will have to get off instantly. It will continue to rise. I have seen it get to 1450. Still searching for best turbo. The truck is not my daily driver. More of a project just waiting for the right parts. I can drive it with no problems, Just no playing allowed at this time.
