Default Southbend Dual Disk Help!

So me and my buddy installed a 3250 DD in my 08. Everything seems fine. I've put almost 500 miles on it, I've done 5th & 6th gear WOT pulls and it holds like a champ. The only thing that bothers me is that out of all of the videos I have seen, the clutch doesn't rattle with the pedal out. When I push the clutch in, it is 100% no noise. It only rattles when I have it in neutral and clutch out. BUT it is the new and improved design with the composite floater plate bumpers. Would that have anything to do with it?

i didn't have much in the way of clutch rattle with the one i had in my 06 either. pretty much the same as you describe.

if you get a grinding noise, stop driving it ASAP and check the pivot ball. i installed mine according to the directions and it backed out. ended up grenading the slave cylinder and pushrod. replaced the hydraulics and put the pivot ball back in with a thin lockwasher and thread locker (even though directions say don't use it) and it never backed out again for the following 20k-ish miles that i had info about the truck (the 5k i put on and the 15k-ish the next owner put on).

It is pretty common to get a clutch rattle with a dual disk. I have a Ram dual disk in my vette and it rattles in neutral with the clutch out. Do some researching on dual disk clutches other than just for your truck and you will see a lot of guys talking about it. Some guys can't stand the rattle. It doesn't really bother me that much. Unless it is extremely loud I doubt if you have a problem. If engagement is smooth and you don't have any slippage, you should be alright.
