I purchased a 2006 F250 superduty powerstroke last July. My truck spent most of it's life south and had 88,000 miles on the clock. The truck is stock, it was used to pull a fifth wheel trailer(weight unknown). Looking at the overall condition of the truck and checking the fluids it seems to have been well taken care of. I plan on towing 24' travel trailer (6000 lb loaded). I did pull our camper through some Pa. hills last summer. All temps. stayed in the normal range, the trailer pulled easy and the truck shifted smooth.

I bought a Sinister coolant filter kit (not yet installed), plan on doing coolant flush(Motorcraft gold), oil(rotella) & motorcraft filter. In fact all filters will be motorcraft. This will be completed before I pull the camper this spring. We planned a trip to the west coast this July and many more trips in the coming years. My question is what else will give this 6.0 more dependability, longevity. I've been into hot rods all my life, built a gasser tribute car which I presently own. but this is my first diesel and I know very little on what these vehicles like and need to survive.

Go to a dealer and ask for an OASIS report. If there was work done at a Ford dealer you can see if any updates/major work has been done.
