New truck some questions
I just bought a 03 6 speed and have some questions I have a fuel leak somewhere around the fuel filter/fuel rail everything is wet and I was wondering where is a goodplace to look? now Ive worked on a few older 24v but never a common rail I know not to go sticking your hand in there looking for a leak as the high pressure can cause some harm..now Is it safe to work on it with the engine off or does it hold the pressure in even after it is not running? also do you bleed this like the older 24v ( crack injector line ) or is it a self bleeding system?
Yes there is a little fuel on the intake under line #5 filter canister is dry after I washed it I can't see any leaks with it running so it must be small but I ordered number #5 like and a #4 ( told its a good idea for spare )
correct me if i'm wrong but there should be somewhere where you can bleed the pressure from the fuel system. don't open any lines til you find that out, high pressure injection will drop you before you even realize what happened
