Default 6.5 glow plug relay issue?

Hello is am new here and have got some great information so far. I'm still stuck after reading multiple posts on the subject.

My 98 6.5 would not power up the glow plugs. The wait light did not turn on and it had no power the the glow plugs. If checked all fuses, all good and have power to the relay. So if figured with 240k on the truck I'll switch out the glow plug relay. Bam truck starts right up. Next morning same issue. If go through everything again. I end up moving the steering column up and down to get my big head under the dash to see if there are any loose wires. Then I have glow plug light and she starts. Next attempt no start. Move steering column again and she starts. So I change out the ignition switch (lot of fun without that little special socket) then the truck runs great for 2 days. This morning back to the original issue. Truck has new pmd, ops, glow plug relay, tps, ignition switch, battery's, all grounds clean.

I'm stuck?
Any advice is much appreciated

.

Clean the ground wires at the passenger side rear of the intake-should be 3 wires grounded at that location.
