6.2 injector pump chev.r&r

i removed the pump and the gear & shaft stayed . what did i not do.

Shaft?

the gear is supposed to stay behind but I am unsure of what you refer to as the shaft?

did you remove the oil fill spout and remove the 3 bolts from the IP drive gear?
