confused mess

Default confused mess

i acquired a 7.3 idi as a trade from a friend for a jeep and 2500 but the previos owner tore it apart to put new injectors in it and broke something along the way and gave up on it now im trying to figure out what i need to do and am not familiar with fords so i am seeking help as i dont know what this part is called so i cant get a new one and the local junk yard trucks are all missing this part of the line all help would be greatly appreciated.confused mess-cam00012.jpg

I have had several of these trucks and never seen anything like that. Is the end you are holding on to connected to anything?

the one end (black hose)looks like it goes to the passenger side firewall i havent traced it back to where it originated. the other end is a hard metal line that got broken off. if it helps the guy said he put in a new injector pump and injectors and when he was putting it back together bent the line the guy who traded me was the cousin of the person doing the work was a kid who owed him like a grand and gave him the truck as payment. now im trying to put his mess back together and make it run,,,always sucks going in behind someone elses **** up figureing out what they did but i really appreciate all of your help

If it attaches to the hose that runs into that black box on the firewall, it's most likely for the A/C. Possibly a check valve of some kind?
