Just installed an Edge CTS Insight in my 97, I love the way it looks and all the options you have to monitor different areas, but my question is at what temp should I start to back off and try to stay under while towing at cruise speeds for transmission and EGT what's your guys range? Because I have read with the 7.3 you can run 1200-1250 all day without worrying is this true? I have been being very dumb and towing very heavy loads without any gauges so I am almost scared now to see what they are while hauling.

 

IH says 1250 all day long, you can go over that for short periods

 

What about the transmission? Holderdown told me 180* start backing off that seams to be a little cool to start to worry just yet

 

Ive allways heard to get excited till you get close to 220.

I'm not 100% sure on tranny, I have a 5sp but I think if you are around 200-220 you are fine?

Do you have a tranny cooler, does it have a fan.if not that would be the way to go.that way you can set the fan to the temp you want it to come on at.
I love my cts edge as well.
