Default help needed truck wont start

I am out of ideas, I have tried 3 different pmd's, checked all the fuses, have fuel from the t-valve. It cranks over and acts like it wants to start every couple tries but it just wont start. I am not sure what else to check. Anyone have any ideas?

Well, a diesel needs fuel, air, pressure, and heat. If it ran fine last night and your fuel system looks good, I'd suggest checking your heat source (glow plugs, plug relay, controller).

i finally found the issue, when the shop fixed my exhaust they broke a ground strap, it must have been grounding out on the exhaust yesterday for it to have started. thanks for the reply

It's good that it was quick and simple (and free).

So that must not have been the problem, this morning it is doing the same thing. After I got it started yesterday I drove it all over the place leaving it for hours at a time and when I came back it fired right up. This morning I have the same thing, crank crank crank and white smoke out of the tail pipe but no fire. I checked the ground I fixed, its still good. So what could it be? I tested the wires going to the glow plugs and they have power.

You might want to check the condition of the CSS (crank shaft sensor) with age these tend to fall apart use AC/Delco or Napa only if replacing.
