Default sierra cummins swap

I have a 1995 GMC sierra 2500 and I was wondering what kind of 12v cummins i can drop in to my truck. I need to know what engine and transmission would be the best. And what parts i would need to make this swap happen. Any help would be great thanks.

Look for an early 90's GM school bus(1 ton I think?),some of them were equipped with the cummins and have everything you would need.

No good ideas?
You need to look at wrecking yards and school bus yards I guess?

Check online auction sites that deal in equipment. That's where most government entity's and large companies are selling their old stuff. I've seen several buses ambulances, etc. sell for less than what the engine is worth. Purplewave is a good site for the Midwest.

Plan on 6-8000 dollars to do it right n easier to use a 5 speed and a body lift will be required on a 4x4 unless you use countersunk bolts on front diff and fabricate trans tunnel its not an idea to throw out there best to buy a donor vehichle. But its worth it if you have time and money i wouldnt sell my chevy cummins if someone waived 20g's in my face
