Default What's a fair price for a 1st Gen

Looking around at a couple of 1st gen 4x4's and found a decent late 1st gen that needs some TLC but nothing simple hand tools (and a spray can of paint) can't fix.

What's a fair price? I realize a truck is worth what someone is willing to pay just trying to get a feel for the market.

Other than the dowel pin and frame cracks around the steering box, any concerns on these rigs? These seem so much simpler than my 04, just looking for a second rig to bomb around in and use as a backup hauler.

If a guy can get it for 3K do you just buy it and take a chance?

They are simpler than the 04 yes.
how is the condition of the body?
how many miles are on the truck.
another difference is the 12valve isn't plug and play like your 04.
And the first gen has the ve pump, and not the p7100 pump.
