I was wondering if many people have been successful in towing a 5th Wheel trailer with the Dodge Mega Cab. I currently have a bumper pull toy hauler but before I buy the Mega Cab I want to know if I am limiting my future towing possibilities. Thanks

 

It can be done, you may need a autoslide hitch, they are made for the trucks with the really small boxes

They are a bit pricey, but they work really well.

 

Thank you for the replies. I just wanted to make sure I still had the option of a 5th wheel when I buy the Mega Cab with the short bed. My toy hauler is a bumper pull so not an issue at this point.

 

I have an 03 quad cab short bed and pull a 38 foot Newmar Cypress fiver, I have an 18,000K Pull-Rite Super Slide hitch that has the mechanical cam actuation for the position of the coach on the turns, works like a champ and it's so nice not having to get out and release the slide for turning radius or towing position. The only downfall is you have to have a capture plate welded onto the pin box and that doesn't allow you to pull any other fiver because of the plate.
