Default Head gaskits on a 85 ford 6.9 idi

my truck dumps white smoke, leaking oil, oil in my exhaust, and when i remove the cap of my fuel injection pump the liquid under it is milky. Do i have a cracked head or a blown head gaskit??? and what should i do for either problem?

Im not familiar with the 6.9L IDI, but white smoke is also unburned fuel also, or a sign of leaking antifreeze I would see if you exhaust smells sweet or if it smelled like raw diesel. Now if you have oil coming out of the exhaust it could mean you have a worn cylinder, cracked head, bad valve. ECT, ECT. Best place to start is to perform a cylinder compression test, see which side has low compression and tackle that side. If its a blown head gasket simply remove head, clean block and head, and inspect the head and move on with life. If you have a cracked head then well.. You need a new head, and head gasket. But if you have low compression in a cylinder, when you do the compression test see if you can see oil or any containments or damage in the cylinder. Hope that I was some of assistance.

LOL>.. You make this sound easy ... I did that in my truck and guess what ... now I have the engine out ...

its a 6.9 and it most likley just hasnt been driven enough to remove the moisture from the oil, short trips and such will do that ...

Ya work on them all they way through from Bumper to Bumper. Most of my builds have been B series and DT466e. No kitty cat yet.
