My 1996 F-250 blows heavy smoke when first started (with ether). I have been doing some reading on glow plugs and it sounds like it could possible be the problem. Anyone have experience with thick white smoke upon a hard start, it clears up after it is nice and warm.

 

Never ever ever use ether. Try glow plugs and a relay

 

Any recommendations for the relay? I have read a lot of good reviews on the xd-11 glow plugs.

 

Only buy glow plugs from ford or international, I run a GPR109 from Napa for a relay
